heziLapidHezi Lapid, Chief Executive Officer

Hezi Lapid was appointed Alvarion’s Chief Executive Officer in May 2012.
A seasoned telecom industry CEO, Hezi most recently served as Chairman and CEO of Axerra Networks, a provider of carrier network equipment. Prior to joining Axerra, he headed multiple business units as an executive of ECI Telecom Ltd. from 1995 until 2003. He also served as CEO of C. Mer Industries, a global system integrator delivering turn-key solutions for wireless networks.
Hezi holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Ben-Gurion University and a M.Sc. in Management and Information Sciences from Tel Aviv University.

Lior Shemesh, Chief Financial Officer
lior-shemeshLior became CFO in January, 2011, after serving for 2 years as Vice President of Finance. Prior to this, he served as Vice President of Finance at Veraz Networks, a provider of softswitch, media gateway and digital compression solutions. Before this, Lior worked for ECI Telecom, a networking infrastructure provider, as the company Controller, and later as Associate Vice-President of Finance of the Broadband Division. Lior is a Certified Public Accountant in Israel and holds a B.A. in Accounting and Economics, and an M.B.A from Bar-Ilan University.


Dr. Mohammad Shakouri, Corporate Vice President, Innovation and Marketing; Chairman of the Board, WiMAX Forum

Mohammad-Shakouri An industry visionary and well-known expert in the field, Mo serves on Alvarion’s executive management team as Corporate Vice President for Innovation and Marketing. In addition, he serves in several prominent roles in the industry, such as Vice President of the WiMAX Forum. Instrumental in growing WiMAX into a multi-billion dollar industry and having expanded the WiMAX Forum’s global reach, Mo is considered to be the leading voice for the WiMAX industry. In addition to his industry leadership position with the WiMAX Forum, Mo also serves on the advisory board for the Wireless Communication Alliance and is an IEEE MTT-SVC 2004 chairman.
Prior to joining Alvarion, Mo was responsible for developing and managing network solutions in European and South American broadband wireless markets for Lucent Technologies. Before Lucent, he spent fourteen years in technical and management positions with Hewlett Packard, developing microwave and fiber optic communication components and systems. He co-founded the wireless systems division, where he was responsible for the engineering team developing low-cost residential digital wireless systems for U.S. and Asian markets.
Mo earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University on Subpicosecond GaAs Wafer Probe Systems.

Tal Meirzon, Chief Operating Officer 
talTal Meirzon currently holds the position of COO for Alvarion. Prior to Alvarion, Tal was the CEO for Wavion Networks leading the company to a front line position in the Carrier grade Wi-Fi market. In November 2011, Tal played a pivotal role in facilitating Alvarion’s acquisition of Wavion Networks. Prior to this, Tal held various executive positions at Gilat Satellite Networks for 13 years, serving as the General Manager of Gilat’s Wireless Business Unit. In addition he held roles as VP Marketing and Business Development, where he managed Gilat's expansion into new markets.
Tal holds a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering, and an MBA in Technology Management and Marketing, both from the Tel Aviv University.

Assaf Katan, Corporate Vice President, Strategy & Business Development
asafk2Prior to joining Alvarion, Assaf spent two and a half years as VP Marketing & Business Development at Media Layers, a start-up in the Mobile Advertising space. Other former positions include; a 5 year tenure at Comverse in various corporate marketing and business development positions, where he initiated and led the company's entry into the mobile content domain, and a team leader at Shaldor, Israel's leading strategy consulting firm. Assaf holds a B.A. in Psychology and Business Administration from the Tel Aviv University.


Gadi Bahat, President, Customer Business Division

GadiBahat Gadi joined Alvarion as President of the Customer Business Division in October, 2010, with global responsibility for regional operations and activities. Gadi came to Alvarion after successfully running Olista (a provider of customer experience analytics solutions that enable mobile and broadband operators to increase the success of their service offerings) for 2 years as CEO and board member, until the company was acquired in May 2010. Prior to this, Gadi spent over a decade with Comverse, where he held a number of executive management positions including EMEA Group President, International Group President and World Group President. He was also a member of Comverse’s Executive Management team, and was responsible for a P&L of more than $500 million. Before Comverse, Gadi held a number of Product Management/Marketing positions at Scitex and RAD Data Communications.
Gadi holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Tel-Aviv University.

Elli Yaniv, Corporate VP of Operations
eli-yanivElli Yaniv joined Alvarion as the Corporate VP of Operations in September 2011. Elli comes to Alvarion after successfully running Gilat's Operations with more than 4 years as the VP of Operations. From 1994 until 2005 Elli was with Flextronics in a variety of global management roles including management of the global semiconductor division. Prior to Flextronics, Elli held a number of executive positions in several hi-tech Israeli companies, including the establishment of Intel’s first FAB in Israel.
Elli holds a M.Sc. in Industry and Management Engineering from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Tel-Aviv University.

Anat Mogilevsky, Corporate Vice President of Human Resources
anat Anat Mogilevsky joined Alvarion as the Corporate Vice President of Human Resources in November 2011. Prior to Alvarion, Anat headed up the Human Resources department for 3 years at RADVISION. From 2005 to 2009, Anat held a number of roles in Human Resources at Alvarion, the most key role being the Director of Training and Organizational Development. Prior to Alvarion, Anat served in Human Resources department of the R&D and Operations Divisions at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries. Anat holds a B.A. in Sociology and M.A. in Labor Studies from Tel Aviv University.
