Trademark Guidelines for Authorized Users
|
Alvarion’s trademarks are important and very valuable business assets, and must be protected. Alvarion has invested great resources to create and develop its goodwill, reputation and brand names in the marketplace. It is imperative that Alvarion’s trademarks are properly used.
Follow these guidelines when referring to Alvarion-brand products and solutions:
Using Alvarion trademarks in text
You may use Alvarion trademarks or product names to refer to Alvarion products and solutions provided you follow these guidelines.
Properly identify Alvarion products and solutions:
Follow these guidelines when using Alvarion-brand product and solution names.

Set Alvarion trademarks apart from other words or nouns it modifies:
The common way to set the trademark apart from other words or nouns is to capitalize the product name and use the appropriate trademark symbol and appropriate descriptor.
Correct: BreezeMAX® 2500 base station
Incorrect: The base station breezemax
Use trademark notices:
Include an attribution of Alvarion ownership of its trademarks in the credit notice section of your documentation or advertisement. Follow this format:
“Alvarion” and "BreezeMAX" are the registered trademarks of Alvarion Ltd.
Do not shorten, abbreviate, or create acronyms for Alvarion trademarks:
Correct: Alvarion’s award-winning BreezeMAX base station
Incorrect: Alvarion’s award-winning BMAX base station
Do not use Alvarion trademarks in the possessive or plural form:
Alvarion trademarks should never be used in the possessive or plural form. They should be used as a proper adjective followed by an appropriate descriptor.
Correct: 4Motion is Alvarion’s Mobile WiMAX end-to-end solution
Incorrect: Alvarion’s 4Motions are deployed worldwide
Advertising collateral, marketing, and product packaging
You may reference the names of Alvarion products and solutions on packaging, website, and in advertising materials to indicate your product's compatibility with a specific Alvarion product or solution, provided the reference complies with the guidelines herein and the specifications below.
Logos:
Do not use the Alvarion Corporate logo, or any other Alvarion logos, symbols, or icons on or in connection with products, packaging, manuals, promotional/advertising materials, or website for any purpose except pursuant to an express written trademark license from Alvarion.
Link logos:
You may place a text link to an Alvarion web page on your site if the text link is not a prominent feature on the site or used in any way to confuse or mislead consumers. You may refer to the Alvarion company name or Alvarion product and solution names in a plain text font and format, provided this use follows our general trademark guidelines, and you include appropriate wording such as: This way to Alvarion.com.
Except for the Link Logos as provided by Alvarion, you may not use the Alvarion Corporate logo or any other Alvarion logo or graphic to link to Alvarion.
Websites:
Do not use any Alvarion trademark in the title of your website or as a second-level domain name. You may not use any Alvarion logo without a license or written specifications from Alvarion.
Publications, seminars and conferences:
You may reference Alvarion product, solution, and technology names on the cover of magazines and periodicals, and in the title of seminars and conferences provided you comply with the guidelines herein and the following specifications:
- The publication, seminar, or conference should relate to the specific Alvarion product, solution, or technology referenced.
- Your name and logo should appear more prominently than the Alvarion word mark on all printed materials related to the magazine, periodical, seminar, or conference.
- A disclaimer of sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement by Alvarion, similar to the example below, should be included on the publication and all related printed materials: "(Title) is an independent (publication) and is not affiliated with, nor has it been authorized, sponsored, or otherwise approved by Alvarion Ltd.”
- You should include a trademark attribution per the notice format provided in the Use Trademark Notices section of this page.
- Do not use an Alvarion trademark as the leading word (or most prominent element) in your magazine, periodical, seminar, or conference title. You may use Alvarion trademarks in a referential manner such as: XYZ MAGAZINE for the Alvarion software. Any use other than this referential manner (such as Alvarion Magazine) requires a license from Alvarion.
- Do not use the Alvarion Corporate logo or any other Alvarion logo on or in the publication, or on any materials related to the publication, seminar, or conference. Special circumstances may merit a license from Alvarion.
- Do not use an Alvarion trademark in any manner that suggests Alvarion's affiliation, sponsorship, or certification of the magazine, periodical, seminar, or conference.
Endorsement or sponsorship:
Do not use any Alvarion trademark in any manner that expresses or implies Alvarion's affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, certification, or approval. Do not use any Alvarion trademark in such a manner that it appears Alvarion is legally associated with your company. You must display your company name more prominently than any Alvarion trademark on all materials.
Merchandise items:
Do not manufacture, sell, or give away merchandise items such as T-shirts, mugs, etc. bearing any Alvarion trademark, including logos, except pursuant to an express written trademark license from Alvarion.
Trade dress and advertising elements:
Do not imitate Alvarion's logos, logotypes, trade dress, or other elements of Alvarion product packaging and websites in any of your materials, including but not limited to advertising, product packaging, websites, and promotional materials.
Slogans and taglines:
Do not use or imitate any Alvarion tagline including but not limited to: Your OPEN WiMAX Choice or We're on Your Wavelength.
